The secondary school, Miguel Catalán, is quite a big one located in the city of Zaragoza, capital city of the region of Aragon. It has about 1400 students divided into three sectors: Compulsory Secondary Education ( 770), Baccalaureate- A-Levels ( 340) and Vocational training Courses ( 250) . The school is based in a good , recently built neighbourhood very close to the University area in a quite new urban development not far from the historic city centre. It enjoys a good reputation in the local public education network, and therefore they have a lot of applicants. Their students are, in general, interested in their studies and belong to a medium to high social background and, in most cases, they are of Spanish origin. The school intends that students feel well at school, whatever their background or abilities are. They usually participate in a number of educational Projects, European as well as National ones, and the students like doing it, being the families very supportive too. The school policy supports the European identity and unity, and the trasnational projects offer both teachers and students an insight of other European countries, cultures and peoples, and education systems to look at and learn from. Foreign languages practice is, therefore, a main goal to accomplish. They have a German bilingual stream and they are trying to set up an English one. Apart from those languages, French is taught at school as well as Latin and some classic Greek.
